Glastonbudget Scam

Had enough of promoters who think Pay 2 Play in all forms is OK? Had enough of the way some promoters treat bands and us paying gig goers? Sick of battle of the bands crap, vote for this and that, forced ticket buys, want to tell us about the GOOD promoters? This all started on My Space until they started removing what we were saying...

Glastonbudget Scam

We entered the auditions for Glastonbudget recently. At first it seemed OK because the first audition involved no money and seemed to be just about the music. The audience is expected to be in excess of 10,000 so all the inconvenience and hassle to get to the auditions seemed vaguely worth it.
Without warning, the second audition suddenly became a dreaded battle of the bands type situation. The crap bands who had dragged along mums, dads and grannies went through. All I can say is GLASTONBOLLOCKS to that.

Bands who are good enough to entertain the crowd should be given a place and the garbage should be told to get lost. It all seems so simple to me.

Why has it all become so complicated and so focused upon revenue?

If they expect to pull in 10,000 people all paying £30.00, why do they need the battle of the bands crap at the front end?

The real Glastonbury aren't much better. They were charging something like £20 or £30 upfront for bands to enter something also amounting to a glorified BoTB. The winners at least get to appear on one of the main stages of a large festival but, personally, as soon as I see any money being asked for upfront I walk away sharpish. Ditto anything vaguely resembling BoTB.

Update.

Well, the Glastonbudget team contacted us and told us that we were so promising that they were going to give us "another chance." They said that they would reschedule us and IF we satisfied the numbers on the night, we might just get a place. God, the generosity is staggering. I wonder how many bus loads of grannies it takes to secure a place?
It's a shame that we are playing Rock City main stage that night, since we were all so keen to get shafted again!!!!!!
