So this SPOTIFY thing, we gave in...

For general chat on anything reasonably related to the alternative/underground music we cover via the pages of Organ, play on our radio show and such

So this SPOTIFY thing, we gave in...

So this SPOTIFY thing, we gave in... who needs to go buy old records anymore? Just stick on that Spoty thing... well not everything is on it, but a good percentage of things... lot of the bands we talk of on the Organ pages. Anyone else here making use of it?

We put a playlist that relates to the current Organ page.... adding tracks as we review things or put up news stories

And we put up a readers playlist for you to add track and join in... let's see what YOU have for the rest of us...

no stopping it, got to roll with it, record labels are dead now anyway, god knows where it leaves new bands and future things... no one much seems to be thinking about that...

any thoughts?

No, We stood strong and tall and pro-small labels and indie music stores and vinyl and...

well, no, I can't download the programme when in the U.S. I would have added Rose Kemp and Lillywhite Lilith and Y Diwigiad and 28 Degrees of Taurus. It won't cooperate, though.

no, you can't get it in the US yet and we no, still haven't got around to putting all the ORG stuff up on there (we're busy!) but I rather like it.... Links to the various Organ playlists are up there, adds a soundtrack to all the news and reviews we're putting up... put up a Stupids album review and a mention of Blind Willie McTell in that kill it Kid review and you can hear them both while you read it if you have the Organ spotify playlist for this month running while you read... who needs to buy records anymore? God knows how us label types are going to afford to put out cutting edge new records for much longer but hey not our problem anymore either...

I'm with James Holton. I like to hold things as well... album covers with art and liner notes, and even CDs with smaller bits of art and fewer liner notes are satisfying. But yes, I can see the appeal of the immediacy.. and good to know you can find all sorts of gems, and even playlists and reviews!
Very sad about smaller labels, it's true. Well, technology takes over, and can be very good, but if only the holly and ivy could grow and overtake it (some of it), the center cannot hold.....

Well yes I like to hold things, I still don't fele like i have a piece of music until I have the 'proper' release in my hand with the artwork to look at and the words to read and the vinyl or CD on the shelf but time moves on and there's so much music out there and it isn't possible to have it all to hand at home... I think I like the idea of Spotify - god knows how bands are going to make records in the future and things like Pirate Bay are killing the small labels... it was a big part in us putting ORG Records on hold, we can't afford to support bands financially if people are just going to file share and not buy records, people wh owant msuic for free really are killing new music.... Spotify looks like the best option for everyone, it isn't perfect but then what is....

So anyone else on there... any one got a Spotify playlist to share?
