THE SELLABLE ART POP-UP MARKET....

Postby SeanOrgan on Sun Sep 13, 2009 1:05 am

THE SELLABLE ART POP-UP MARKET.... The Sellable Art Pop-up Market is a specialist market event, hosted by the Old Truman Brewery over in East London. Brick Lane is the place. “The Sellable Art Pop-up is a unique opportunity to browse and buy artworks direct from the creators”. The next Pop-up event takes place from 25th - 27th September in the cavernous old Boiler House, 152 Brick Lane. Entry is free, paintings will be on sale, 30 or so painters, creators and such so we’re promised, and that includes us Organ team with a stall and some artwork and paintings and things – www.trumanbrewery.com

"The ethos of the Old Truman Brewery’s markets is consistent with that of the Brewery as a whole; to provide a platform for new design, art and fashion, without prejudice or pretension, in order to restore the direct link between creator and customer"

I want to go to this Sellable Art Pop-Up Market. I also want to go to see the Raincoats at the National Portrait Gallery. And I am stuck over here on this land mass for reasons beyond My control :( But... some fine creative American travellers from a city not far from Me are going! Perhaps they should be given some fine Betjeman ale sample to incite their desire for even more art?

Have a Turkish for Me....

Cafe 1001 tonight, Wednesday 30th Sept - kicks off 5.30, goes on until about 11.30. one night of art, about 25 of us, putting some paintings on a gallery wall, beer, music, relaxed atmosphere... free entry... bit like a gig on art rather than bands... CAFE 1001 is right over from Rough Trade Records in Brick Lane.. East London

I haven't mentioned it once... She was very polite. Unlike the skinny white Graff kids who said "you 'da bomb man, respect to the art" as they were being thrown out by security for tagging the place. There was some good stuff there last night actually
